Jonathan Russell

Jonathan Russell is the Director of Academic Systems at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. His responsibilities include oversight of the NPS technology assistance center, classroom technology, desktop virtualization, the video tele-education systems, all of the distance learning systems and providing leadership on the future on learning technologies.
He has worked at the Naval Postgraduate School for the last six years, serving in his current role since October of 2008. Prior to this, Jon worked as the Manager of the New Technology & Innovation Center and eventually as the Educational Technologies manager within the NPS IT department. Previous to his career at NPS, Jon worked for six years in the Financial Industry. He worked first Wachovia Corporation and then at Investor’s Bank & Trust as a developer and IT project manager. Jon holds a Masters of Business Administration from Norwich University and an undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University.
