Matthew Burton has been developing the technology infrastructure at the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau since December 2010. He was previously a private consultant to the U.S. Intelligence Community, where he advised agencies on web-based collaboration and information sharing; and an intelligence analyst at the Defense Intelligence Agency, where he was an early advocate for the creation of collaborative services such as Intellipedia. He has written extensively on the need for government agencies to adopt new technologies, software development practices, and recruitment strategies.
